It’s funny how every Valentine’s Day, I always find myself single except for one time — which doesn’t count because I just wasn’t feeling it, can’t even remember what I did that year. Anyway, I decided this year will be different, better even! To all my fellow singles out there, you can make this Valentine special with these 5 Fun ways to survive Valentine’s Day as a single.

Being single does not have to be boring on Valentine’s Day!

I know being single is never easy especially on Valentine’s day. It’s like the universe decided to play a trick on you and didn’t invite you for a party.

You feel left out…

Alone…

Unhappy…

And not to mention that everywhere you go, you’re reminded of your lack of relationship with many Valentine ads on social media and billboards. You can’t even go to the supermarket to get a bucket of ice-cream, you get swamped with the valentine decorations and gift hampers. The universe is being a vindictive little witch, lol!

Yeah, it’s painful! You’re forced to sit through conversations of your friends planning a romantic date with their boo and you mentally roll your eyes and be like “oh shit, here we go again”. Not to sound like a jealous cow, but that’s how I feel because I am honestly jealous and I want that so badly…

Is it too much to ask?

Lol…

But hold up! Who said Valentine is all about celebrating love with your significant other in a candlelit dinner at a very expensive restaurant, professing undying love to each other — okay, that is dream-worthy!

Anyway, my point is you can enjoy valentine without all that mushy stuff. It doesn’t have to be boring, I swear. I thought it would be great to share these 5 fun ways to survive Valentine’s day as a single because we can do better this year… create better memories of Valentine’s day as a single — celebrating self-love.

Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love and appreciating those that you love. If this is not an opportunity to celebrate yourself for all the great things you’ve achieved because you love and appreciate yourself — then I guess that we all got it wrong. And guess what? You don’t need someone to take you to a fancy dinner before you can realize that you’re worth celebrating. And you deserve to do that for yourself. What are you waiting for? Get off that couch and plan a dream-worthy Valentine’s date for yourself.

#2. Do Something Nice For Others!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day by celebrating the people you love. While I encourage that you do something nice for yourself, sending gifts to your friends, family and co-workers on this special day can go a long way. It can also make you feel good about being there for others by making other people’s days brighter… making other people happy makes me happy too.

#3. Spend Time With Someone You Love!
